• Mary Herrington | 28 Jul 2010, 15:05 An Austen Inspired Wedding at the Assembly Rooms My husband and I were married at the Assembly Rooms in April 2010.  It was a beautiful space - making everybody (including myself) forget that it was raining cats and dogs outside.  I wore a Vera Wang gown and my husband wore Gieves & Hawkes.  Our ceremony was in the Octagon Room, followed immediately by a cocktail reception in the Card Room where Searcy's served delicious canapes; then our wedding banquet and dancing in the Tea Room, where the stage and dance floor were positioned in the center of the room with round tables on each side and top table a long rectangular table positioned in the centre, opposite the DJ's stage.  We had a Jane Austen inspired wedding with our own cameo profiles donning each of the cards, signs, favours, a bespoke silhouette artist cutting guests' silhouettes, and each table named after a Jane Austen novel or estate.  I also run my own wedding and event planning business called Forever & Ever Events (www.foreverandeverevents.com).  I planned every aspect of my own wedding, but did wish at times that I had professional help!  Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about my wedding or planning services.
